Dry Stone Walling

Dry Stone Walling - Taster Sessions

If you have ever taken a stroll in Hurst Farm you may have noticed the dry stone walls taking shape there.

They are an integral part of the heritage landscape at Hurst Farm and they have fallen into disrepair in places.

Community Rangers and Dry Stone Walling Volunteers have been working to restore this important local landscape feature that will last for generations.

If you are curious about this traditional heritage craft and would like to get involved in some way, why not come along to our Dry Stone Walling Taster Session, taking place every Monday from 10am – 3pm at the Community Garden.

You will meet the Wild Works Community Rangers and Volunteers and find out what is involved.

Farmer's Community Garden

Community Garden volunteer drop in

The Farmer’s Community Garden is located at the top of Hazel Grove adjacent to Farmers View Social Club.

The garden is being developed by volunteers who are turning it into a thriving community space for the people of Hurst Farm.

Volunteers meet every Tuesday from 10am – 3pm.
All welcome

The first stage of this involves preparing the ground, and volunteers have already cleared a large space of overgrown land and are in the process of building the infrastructure needed to create a functional, secure and attractive community run facility.

There are also opportunities to explore bee keeping.

Produce from the garden is used to support local projects such as The Pantry and Milk Churn Café.
